Windchill SAP Integration
The client is an Indian multinational home appliances company, headquartered in Mumbai. It specializes in air conditioning, commercial refrigeration and MEP. It is the country's second largest homegrown player in the air conditioning space.
The Challenge
Product data management was inadequate as there was no data real time data sharing between the Windchill PLM application & SAP application. Only the first time BOM could be published to SAP via FTP. This hampered the change management process too, which ultimately lead to loss or improper inventory management. Time taken for completion of production cycle was more as someone had to manually update the BOM structure from Windchill PLM application to the SAP application, this also led to increase in manual error & widen the loss in company profits.
In output files, all errors were not generated in one go and not in real time. Also, there was no record of publishing history with success/failure status. Dashboard for Transaction management and monitoring was also not present.
What did ACTIN do?
- Seamless integration to transfer information like Part, BOM and Change from Windchill PLM application to SAP application.
- Maintain the transaction history along with successful/failure results. Facilitate transaction management and monitoring.
- RTM process flow to automate the collection of data, validation and invoke the integration service on release of each revision.
- Framework to log information about failures of all line items at a time
- Automate the process to flow change information along with affected BOMs on release of change.
- Success and failure with error message in real time of transaction with OOTB/custom message from SAP.
