About The Client
The client is the leading manufacturer of diesel engines and generator sets for all residential and commercial usage. We have pioneered agricultural solutions. They are the largest producer of non-automotive diesel-powered engines in India.

The Challenge

They possessed robust functional expertise but faced technological limitations within its IT division. Seeking to bridge this gap, they outsourced their entire IT operations to our managed services company. The in-house resources of the manufacturing giant were proficient in functional aspects but lacked technical prowess. This discrepancy hindered efficient integration of crucial technologies such as ERP, CRM, PLM, Software Development, Infrastructure, and Database divisions.

What did ACTIN do?

A business process to track the new part development progress, Quantity management & Procurement progress of parts in a particular BOM. Parts from a BOM are added to a kit (subtype of WTPart) & a consolidated requirement with all details is passed on to the Sourcing department.

  • ACTIN provided a business process in which entire requirement of part procurement with quantities was added in a Procurement Kit (Sub type of WTPart) & this consolidated part list in the form of kit was circulated through the related stake holders for gathering their qty. requirements.
  • Seamless integration between PMO & Sourcing department for managing the procurement of parts was provided which reduced unnecessary mail communication gaps.
  • Project timelines became clear as the Sourcing team had to provide the expected development date & MOQ of parts in kit.
  • Improved Qty. tracking & inventory consumption for in-stock components.

As data was provided by relevant stake holders in PLM & was available in consolidated dashboard so it became single source of truth.
